Film Gainesville wants to bring the best Sci Fi short films to North Central Florida! If your film is 20 minutes or less and in the genre we want to see your cinematic masterpiece. Whether its traditional, vintage, historical, environmental, VFX heavy, Space Opera, or spooky, if its a science fiction film, we want to see it.
Films will be screened live over two days and onlive via the Sparq Platform.
SCIFI Gainesville will screen at Santa Fe College in the newly renovated 236 seat, state of the art E Building Lyceum Fine Arts Theater.
Additionally, we will host a local art show at the venue and online during the event.

Films must be 20 minutes or less to qualify and must fit into the genre of "Science Fiction". Sci Fi Gainesville only accepts online submissions in h.264, mp4, prores422 (.mov). The festival will not screen films that promote racism, sexism or are exploitative. Once films are submitted no refunds will be given. Submission does not guarantee screening. Films may not contain copyrighted imagery, sound or music unless adequate rights have been obtained. Documentation must be provided to the festival upon request.

Everyone should produce films. Its an amazing expression of creativity. We are dedicated to finding the best work from all people. Award for best Female produced film and Underrepresented Film - Racial/Ethnic Diversity, LGBTQ, Socio-economic, Age... We want to bring a true representation of diversity to our festival! Waivers are available for qualified films.
